EXPERIENCE AND PRACTICE AREA
Harris Junell was born in Houston, Texas and is licensed to practice law in Texas. He is the Managing Partner of Junell & Associates, PLLC.
Harris’ practice is devoted primarily to litigation matters where they focus on various product liability, personal injury and complex commercial litigations. He has represented over seventy-five thousand clients and settled over $2.5 billion in settlements in the last few years alone. Harris specializes in the administration, negotiation and settlement for large mass torts against the biggest companies in the world including representing clients who have been injured by exposure to asbestos, refinery explosions, defective products, insurance claims, dangerous drugs and medical devices.
Harris was one of the lead counsels in the administration, negotiation and settlement for over 35,000 cases in the joint venture for Transvaginal Mesh. Additionally, he served as special settlement counsel on behalf of another 24,000 women in the settlement firm of Aylstock Bailey Burnett Junell Potts & Witkin, PLLC which settled over 250 law firms’ cases in the Transvaginal Mesh litigation. Harris managed day to day operations for both the primary and the settlement dockets from 2013-2017 where he settled in excess of $1.8 billion in claims.
Harris is currently one of the lead negotiating counsels in the settlement for over 10,000 clients and over 20 law firms injured by the Roundup products with Bayer. He is currently serving as settlement counsel in a settlement firm to help administrate and process those settlements.
Junell & Associates, together with its joint venture partners, take on some of the largest dockets in the biggest litigations in the country. Some notable cases that he has been involved with over the last decade include representing (1) the largest docket against BP in the 2005 Texas City Explosion litigation, (2) one of the larger dockets in the GM Ignition Switch Recall litigation, and (3) tens of thousands of cases involving pharmaceutical drugs and devices, such as Accutane, Avandia, Depakote, Depuy Hip Implants, Digitek, Invokana, IVC Filter, Paxil, Fen-Phen, Pradaxa, Roundup, Trasylol, Zofran and Zoloft to name a few.
Prior to founding Junell & Associates, Harris was a partner at Bailey Perrin Bailey, PLLC for ten years where he managed day to day operations of the firm. Prior to Bailey Perrin Bailey, Harris was an associate at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, a national full-service law firm with over 400 lawyers worldwide. Harris also clerked for the Honorable Chief Justice Scott Brister on the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas. Before Harris became a lawyer, he worked as a Financial and Credit Risk Analyst in both commercial banking and private equity for several years. Harris serves on several boards in Houston and is married and has three children. They all live in Houston, Texas.
