EXPERIENCE & PRACTICE AREAS

Deborah is a Managing Partner at Junell & Associates, PLLC, dedicated to all of the firm’s mass tort dockets, including Transvaginal Mesh, GM Ignition Switch Failure, Roundup, Invokana, IVC Filters, 3M Defective Ear Plug litigation, Boy Scouts of America sexual abuse claims, Camp Lejeune toxic water cases and more.  Her specialty focuses on mass torts for product liability, and personal injury with a special interest in pharmaceutical cases involving clients who have been injured by dangerous drugs.  Deborah has represented over 100,000 clients who have been injured by medical devices and pharmaceutical medications across the nation.  She has managed over 100+ employees on various mass tort projects. Deborah’s extensive business and management experience has proven successful by helping to develop the first settlement claims center on behalf of 250+ plaintiff firms in the American Medical Systems litigation.

Before becoming a licensed attorney, Deborah worked at the firm during the day, attended law school at night, all while raising a family.  Eventually she was promoted to supervise the firms new call center.  This position allowed her to learn the various mass torts and personal injury dockets.  At the firm Deborah participated in the AlloDerm cadaver hernia patch mass tort litigation along with a team of three other national law firms.  She also clerked for Justice Ken Wise when he was judge of the 334th Judicial District Court.

Prior to law school, Deborah’s experience as a project manager for Xerox was instrumental in her understanding of the importance of data integrity and data management.  Also, her management and leadership experience in a health and wellness company gave her critical insights into the use and health risks associated with the proliferation of prescription drugs in the treatment of patient’s symptoms.  It was at this point in her life when Deborah decided her new goal in life was to obtain her law degree.  This experience inspired her to go to law school in order to enable her to help and protect people who are unknowingly doing serious harm to themselves by using dangerous pharmaceuticals.

Deborah graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree, and also attended the University of Houston Law Center.  While in law school she competed in a national negotiations competition and placed in the top 10.  Deborah was recently named one of The Top 50 Women Leaders of Houston for 2023. Deborah resides in Cypress, Texas with her husband of over 40 years, and has three children and three grandchildren.
